Biomass Industry Leaders Gather To Unify Policy Efforts
October 27, 2009 (Arlington, VA) The Pellet Fuels Institute (PFI) is co-hosting a Biomass Thermal Energy Policy briefing and discussion with the Biomass Thermal Energy Council and the Alliance for Green Heat in an effort to unify and form public policy for renewable energy and home heating.
The Capitol Hill meeting is open to the public and attendees will discuss the affect of public policy on displacing imported fossil fuel and carbon emissions and the use of sustainable biomass resources available in the U.S.
This is an excellent opportunity for the biomass industry to join in an open dialogue with the ultimate goal of affecting public policy that supports and encourages the use of renewable energy in a responsible and economical way, said Jeff Thiessen, PFI president.

Recent federal legislation created a consumer tax credit of 30% up to $1,500 towards the purchase and installation of a biomass burning stove.
