Oregon State University Extension Service is recruiting for an Extension & Technology Transfer Specialist with an academic rank of Associate Professor (Senior Research) located in the Department of Forest Ecosystems and Society in the College of Forestry on the Corvallis Campus. This position is initially established for two year funding, with future years of employment dependent upon available funding.  The position is funded by the U.S.D.A. Forest Service, Pacific Northwest Research Station, and the incumbent will serve as a liaison between Research Station scientists and Extension Agents and Specialists in Oregon and other Pacific Northwest states.  The incumbent will develop, deliver, and evaluate educational programs using both traditional and technology-based media, develop cooperative learning materials, and integrate wildfire, fuels management, and forest health technologies into existing and emerging extension curricula, publications, and educational programs.  Incumbent will also organize multi-institution regional technology transfer frameworks and activities that promote communication, cooperation, and understanding among individuals and organizations pursuing fire/fuels technology transfer in the Region. Incumbent will also develop applied research needs associated with Extension & Technology Transfer functions and conduct research to meet those needs.  Requires Ph.D. degree in a renewable natural resources field, with at least one lower degree (B.S. and/or M.S.) related to renewable natural resources. Requires substantial experience in developing, delivering, and evaluating Natural Resources Extension programs at the local and/or state level, and prior experience in research, including developing research projects, conducting research, analyzing and interpreting data, and publishing results in refereed journals. A valid driver's license is required for traveling to research sites. Background in human dimensions in natural resources, Institutional Review Board (IRB) certification, and knowledge of Cooperative Extension Service procedures and administration at local, state, and national levels desirable. Employment Conditions: Full-time (1.0 FTE) 12-month, fixed term faculty position with reappointment at the discretion of the Dean. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Medical, dental, and life insurance group plans are available.
