Future Energy Yorkshire are pleased to announce that Duffield Wood Pellets at Melmerby, near Ripon in North Yorkshire are to open a wood fuel centre adjacent to their sister company Duffield Timber. A guaranteed supply of raw material from Duffield Timber will ensure the company will meet its sales targets until year two. In partnership with sawmill residues suppliers and recyclers up to 12000 tonnes of quality wood pellets may be produced per annum.
Clegg Construction (Northern) Ltd will complete and hand over a new build purpose designed 18,000 square feet factory in mid June 2009. REKA in conjunction with KEMCO a European Partnership with many years of wood pelleting experience have been commissioned to supply the wood pellet plant. A second pellet press (in tandem) may be added at a later date which would give a total production capacity of up to 25,000 tonnes per annum. An automatic, weighing & bagging line is currently being installed which will give up to 400 sealed 10kg & 25kg bags per hour. A grant has been awarded to this project by Yorkshire Forward, under the Rural Enterprise Investment Programme.
Engineers will install and commission the plant by September 2009 so that quality wood pellets will be offered for the forthcoming winter season. Alternatively kiln dried woodchips are available now. Both pellets and woodchips are available loose, in dumpy, 25kg & 10kg bags.
Duffield Wood pellets seek to offer a quality bespoke service to consumers requiring small or large deliveries. In partnership with other agencies a trade stand will be exhibiting at various locations throughout the year and it is expected that several open days will be held to exhibit the facility to interested parties.
